Birthday Party

On Saturday my friends and family helped me celebrate my birthday at my favorite Italian Restaurant. We had a ton great food and drink. I think we had like 32 bottles of wine, 30+ beers, bruschetta, calamari, shrimp, eggplant salad, caesar salad, sea bass, new york steak, rack of lamb, sauteed spinach, creamy potatoes and tiramisu. YUMMO!!!! Holy cow we all were stuffed but we danced it all away with Massive Sounds DJ in the house!!!!!! We danced to some old school stuff and some of the new top 20 stuff. It was a night to remember and I have my husband to thank for it. He planned the whole thing by himself......he gets big time brownie points!!! This is the longest running b-day as we have dinner plans at another restaurant only this time it's French inspired. My youngest was on a school trip so she wasn't here to celebrate my b-day so we will all be together tomorrow to celebrate my b-day once again!!!!! See some b-day photos to the right----------->>>

Oh, and by the way I'm not 47 as my b-day cake implies....just a little joke from the chef and owner of the restaurant.

Yosemite & Birthday

My daughter is on a trip to Yosemite and they call and tell me she has been throwing up for 8 hours....I feel sooo bad for her. She was finally able to keep a little water down. My daughter is missing the spider cave trip with her friends today and was so looking forward to going. They will call me later and give me an update. They were concerned that she was dehydrated and if she continued to get sick they would take her to the hospital for and IV. Yuck...my poor baby I feel helpless and it's a 4.5 hour drive to be with her. We will go if she is worse....but she won't, right? Let's think good thoughts.

On another note it was my b-day yesterday and I turned 37, ouch that hurt! Here's a self pic cause no one was home and I wanted a pic of myself....not too shabby cause I have the flash on so that my wrinkles don't show so much!!! My husband, older daughter (will go to dinner again when younger daughter is home from her trip) and I went to shopping and then out to dinner. It was really yummy! I had Mahi Mahi with wild mushrooms, asparagus and potatoes, dessert was a little disappointing. Here are my gifts from last night a jacket and purse. My husband surprised me by buying me this Gucci Bag (wallet will be sent from another store). I also bought myself some goodies from the LSS!

Life Must Go On

Feeling kinda sad and angry. My little nephew Greaison passed away on Jan. 1oth we had his service on the 16th and I just can't seem to get rid of my sadness. Sadness for my brother and his family, sadness because his life was so short, sadness all around! I know life must go on but I feel so heavy inside. I think Greaison has reminded us all to love each other, hold each other closer and to let the little things go!

I dropped my 11 year old daughter off at school at 5:45 am for a week long school trip and I miss her already! I know that she will be fine but with everything that has gone on this last month I just want her here. Well, here's to a better today.

Happy New Year!!

It's been a month since my last post. I had so much going on during the month of December it was crazy. We hosted a birthday brunch for my mother-in-law in our home the first week of December. I also put together the annual girlfriend ornament exchange this year, thankfully that was at a restaurant so not too much work.

We also had a scare when my sis-in-law went into labor on December 18th and had her baby 2 1/2 months early. The baby weighed 2.5 pounds and it has been a rough road for him, his parents and the family. I have babysat their other three children while they run to the NICU. I forgot how much work three extra kiddos can be. The baby has heart problems and will have surgery in the next week or so. He also had bleeding in the right and left side of his brain. The bleeding has stopped but they have now seen fluid in his brain and will have to drain that. It is a scary situation and I find that I feel so sad most days. My brother and his wife will have to make decisions most parents do not want to make when it comes to their children. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they have a long road ahead.

Like most people I was trying to have a perfect Christmas. My brother and his family came by after spending lots of time with the baby in the hospital. We were all happy they made it so that we could all celebrate together. Hosting Christmas in our home turned out really nice, it was three days of work but so much fun. We had both sides of the family over so we had a full house.

Three day after Christmas my husband and I took off to Vegas to see a UFC fight. We had a great time and when we got home my cold came back in full force, so I feel really yucky right now!!!!

I hope you all had a safe and happy New Year!!! Here's to a great '08!! ;o)
