Happy New Year!!

It's been a month since my last post. I had so much going on during the month of December it was crazy. We hosted a birthday brunch for my mother-in-law in our home the first week of December. I also put together the annual girlfriend ornament exchange this year, thankfully that was at a restaurant so not too much work.

We also had a scare when my sis-in-law went into labor on December 18th and had her baby 2 1/2 months early. The baby weighed 2.5 pounds and it has been a rough road for him, his parents and the family. I have babysat their other three children while they run to the NICU. I forgot how much work three extra kiddos can be. The baby has heart problems and will have surgery in the next week or so. He also had bleeding in the right and left side of his brain. The bleeding has stopped but they have now seen fluid in his brain and will have to drain that. It is a scary situation and I find that I feel so sad most days. My brother and his wife will have to make decisions most parents do not want to make when it comes to their children. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they have a long road ahead.

Like most people I was trying to have a perfect Christmas. My brother and his family came by after spending lots of time with the baby in the hospital. We were all happy they made it so that we could all celebrate together. Hosting Christmas in our home turned out really nice, it was three days of work but so much fun. We had both sides of the family over so we had a full house.

Three day after Christmas my husband and I took off to Vegas to see a UFC fight. We had a great time and when we got home my cold came back in full force, so I feel really yucky right now!!!!

I hope you all had a safe and happy New Year!!! Here's to a great '08!! ;o)

Happy New Years to you too. I hear you about being pooped and ready for things to get back to normal. ((hugs)) to your brother and his family. My youngest's birthday is the 18th. I'll keep their little one in my thoughts.
